About Oovie Schools Film Project
Following the award-winning success at the Dungog Film Festival last year, the Oovie Schools Film Project has been welcomed in to the inaugural Cockatoo Island Film Festival Program in 2012. The Oovie Schools Film Project is a mentorship program for high schools that involves teachers and students in experiential learning about film.
The Project’s application process required schools to submit a pitch for a three-minute short film with the 2012 theme of The Island.
Applications were considered by a panel of industry experts and three schools, Erskine Park High, Bulahdelah Central and Richard Johnson Anglican School, have been chosen to take part in the 2012 Oovie Student Film Project which will culminate at the Cockatoo Island Film Festival from 24th -28th October.
The Ambassador of the Oovie Schools Film Project in 2012 is star of Home & Away, Underbelly & Paper Giants Jessica Tovey.
The Oovie Schools Film Project is a Cockatoo Island Film Festival initiative.
Cockatoo Island Film Festival is supported by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust.
