NSW Mining Young Indigenous Documentary Fellowship

NSW Mining, as part of its support of world-class film in NSW, has partnered with Cockatoo Institute to create a new fellowship for young Indigenous filmmakers. Entries are now open for this new fellowship of $20,000 that will support the development or production of a documentary project that will screen at the 2013 Cockatoo Island Film Festival.

NSW Mining Young Indigenous Documentary Fellowship is for an Indigenous person aged 35 or under to produce or develop a documentary that captures their unique point of view as an Indigenous Australian. The successful recipient will be awarded the fellowship at the inaugural Cockatoo Island Film Festival, 24th - 28th October. The winner’s film will be shown at the 2013 event.

NSW Mining will promote new talent and skills development in Australian film as "Strategic Partner‟ for the first Cockatoo Island Film Festival in Sydney and the 6th Annual Dungog Film Festival in the Hunter in 2012.
